OBJECTIVES
The objective of this Seminar on “Marketing Halal Products and Services in Indonesia – Opportunities and Resolving Challenges” is to provide insights into the dynamic landscape of halal and sharia industry in Indonesia and to highlight the opportunities available for Malaysian halal products manufacturers and service providers. It will also describe the various challenges faced by Malaysian halal exporters in entering the Indonesia market and on how to resolve them.

TRAINERS PROFILE
Ahmad Soffian bin Abdul Rahim (Faith Inspired Technopreneur / Halal & Sharia Advocator) is a dynamic and seasoned professional with over 25 years of exemplary experience across diverse sectors. Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Soffian has made significant strides in Indonesia, where his innovative contributions have left an indelible mark.
Soffian’s journey commenced in the private sector, laying a strong foundation for his seamless transition into the public sector. As an accomplished Administrative and Diplomatic Officer for the Malaysian government, he played pivotal roles across various ministries, gaining invaluable insights into governmental operations. This firsthand experience solidified his role as a trusted advisor and collaborator for foreign enterprises seeking to navigate Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region.
An accomplished entrepreneur since 2011, Soffian has spearheaded ventures spanning industries such as mining, agriculture, IT, renewable energy, telecommunications, and cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and AI. His ventures extend into niche markets, including the halal and sharia ecosystem, reflecting his astute ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends.
Presently, Soffian holds esteemed positions, including Business Director, Senior Advisor, and Co-founder of PT. Halal Syariah Integrasi, an innovative ecosystem leveraging technology for halal sharia training, certification, and consultation. He also serves as a Senior Advisor for numerous companies involved in import, export, trading, logistics, and IT in Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Kabur Ibrahim is the Chairman of the Malaysia Institute of Export and International Trade and the President of the Malaysian Exporters Association. After his graduation from the University of Malaya, he joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry as a PTD officer and assumed various positions including the Malaysian Trade Commissioner in Belgium and South Africa. While in South Africa, he left the government and opened a consultancy in Johannesburg assisting foreign companies to export, import, and invest in selected African countries.
After his return to Malaysia during the Asian crisis in 2000, he continued his activities in Africa from Malaysia. Under the Malaysian Exporters Association, he has organized and led a few Trade Missions to more than 15 countries included most ASEAN countries, South Korea, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, and Senegal. He also set up the Malaysian Export Academy in 2007 which specialises on Export Training, Coaching and Consultancy. To date the academy has trained more than 4,000 trainees on export management and other export related fields.
He has also been very active in the halal industry in Malaysia and some selected countries. He played significant roles in the organizing and managing of the World Halal Forum series, Indonesia Halal Expo for 3 consecutive years, the first Dubai Halal Show, the National Halal Forums, National Halal Excellence Awards and many other Halal related activities. He has also spoken in Halal forums in Malaysia, Australia, UAE, Pakistan and Indonesia.
